DV Lottery, the diversity visa lottery is conducted by the American Government through its KCC center each year. They have only one official web site which will accept entries in a selected 60 days period.
DV-2011 is the name for next American Diversity Visa Lottery which will be held in the last quarter of the year 2009. The official announcement will be made by the US State Department around August 2008 about the DV2011 program. The lottery will issue 50,000 LPR America visas for the people who meet the requirements from eligible countries for the fiscal year 2011. The Official US Government web site normally accepts entries from October and will close on December. This is the one and only web site that will be open to apply during the 60 days period each year. No entries will be accepted after this period. Before you do the applying read the Instructions carefully as there may be small changes from the previous years. This is a free to apply program although the winner will not be given away with the visa but will be given a chance to apply for the immigrant visa by paying the necessary non refundable visa fees and will be required to proof the eligibility for the program. An unmarried eligible person will get a visa while a married person will get visas for his spouse and eligible children to enter the USA. There they can change their status to LPR status by following the instruction.
DV 2009 Lottery winners are being interviewed at the respective US Consular sections, and they were issued with visas to eligible winners till 30th September 2009 and now tha program is closed.
DV 2009 winners 99,600 were selected by computer's random selection from the registered applicants of last year 2007; they were informed by regular postal mail. This Procedure was done from the month of May till the end of July 2008 and now from 1st of October 2008 they are being called for interview this will continue till 30th September 2009.
The 2009 winners were given with further instructions along with the winning notification. In this notification clearly indicated that the forms DS-122, DSP-230. (Read the instructions carefully as there is a form which you don't need to sign at this stage.) Should be duly filled and sent back to KCC as soon as possible. And also they asked the winners not to proceed with the application if they didn’t meet the educational or work qualification as required. Also inside the notifying white envelop, there will be a small addressed sticker for to stick on the returning envelop.
The KCC will select eligible people's forms and will inform to them about the day and date of the interview and will inform by normal mail which is called as Second Letter according to their case numbers. The visa interviews will start on 1st of October 2008 and will continue till 30th September 2009 to issue visas to eligible people.
DV2010 Results are being sent from April 2nd week 2009, through postal mail to the selected people who were selected through the computer random draw at the KCC. The dv 2010 results and winners name list are expected by more than 10 million people world wide.
